2010-11 Fundraising requirements

CCD is a large and growing organisation which serves nearly 500 disabled children in Thailand. Services include daycare centres for abandoned and disabled children who live on government wards; Rainbow House, a purpose-built residential centre for special needs children; Baan Piam Rak, a group home for disabled young people who are developing skills for independent living; and three community-based rehabilitation centres serving rural communities in Nakhorn Pathom, Nonthaburi/Pathum Thani and Chainat provinces.

CCD is largely reliant on donations from the public and from grant-making bodies, receiving little in the way of statutory funding. To ensure that CCD’s valuable work can continue, we are currently seeking funds for the specific projects listed in this document. Please note that these requirements are in addition to our ongoing need for funds to support the day-to-day care that we provide, staff salaries, utility bills, etc.

If you are interested in supporting us by donating or fundraising for a specific project, please contact David Giles, International Communications & Development Officer, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Tax-paying donors in the UK and USA can make use of tax-efficient giving schemes to increase the value of the gift at no cost. Please contact us for information.

CCD's aim is to demonstrate Jesus' love by helping to develop disabled children to their highest potential through a holistic approach and to ensure that disabled children have equal rights, opportunities and a good quality of life in Thailand. CCD welcomes international and local volunteers (both professional and non-professional) to work alongside CCD staff.

  1. To develop the physical, mental, emotional and social skills of children with disabilities and special needs.
  2. To enable special needs children to be self-sufficient and integrated into society rather than spend a life in an institutional setting.
  3. To enable those children to take advantage of government help schemes.
  4. To educate families and communities about the needs of children with disabilities and special needs.
  5. To provide those children with necessary life and social skills.
